Management of Financial Responsibility

In accordance with the general principles of Itella’s corporate responsibility, the company wants to grow profitably, because only a financially sound company can implement its responsibility towards the society, its staff, the environment, and all stakeholders. Itella plans its finances with a long-term perspective, anticipating changes in the market, customer demands, and risk scenarios both in Finland and abroad. Management is supported by risk management policies, the principles that govern internal control, and administrative principles.

Risk management and internal control constitute an integral part of Itella’s management processes and management culture. The execution of risk management is the responsibility of line management, which is in charge of integrating risk management in strategic leadership, daily operations, and business processes. Itella’s Executive Board regularly monitors the implementation of the risk management process and the group’s risk portfolio.
